Yes, Even YOU Can Become a Morning Person!

You’ve seen the articles before – the morning habits of successful people, how mornings are the most productive time of day, the list goes on and on! Maybe it even seems like no matter what you do, you just cannot get out of bed before 9 AM. Try incorporating these tricks into your life, and see what good it can do toward making you more of a morning person!

  • Be Proactive – “I’ll do that in the morning” you might say, as you hit play on the next episode of your favorite Netflix series. Whether you realize it or not, your brain is storing that little piece of information about what you have to accomplish in the morning, causing you to worry about it, even if it’s only subconsciously. When this happens, you’re not getting quality sleep, and you’ll likely wake up in a panic, rushing around to do that thing you should have done last night. Take a few minutes at night to make your nighttime routine a little easier, whether that means picking out your outfit, making your lunch for tomorrow, or doing the dishes. Whatever can’t be done at night, make a list of and leave it by your bed so you know you won’t forget it in the morning.

  • Tidy Up – Put on your favorite music and take a few minutes in the evening to clean up your space. Wash the dishes in the sink, make your bed, and put your laundry away. When you go to sleep at night knowing that your home is tidied up, you’re likely to sleep a little easier.

  • Keep a Regular Sleep Schedule (and Routine!) – One of the best ways to become accustomed to being a morning person is to get your body in a natural pattern of knowing when it should be awake and asleep. Even on the weekends, don’t alter your sleep schedule too much, as tempting as it may be to sleep in. Notice things that might keep you up at night, such as that late night snack, scrolling through your Instagram feed in bed, or even the late afternoon cup of coffee. Cut out the things that are keeping you awake unnecessarily, and achieve better sleep.
